Who is GREG DARABAN

Greg Daraban has been in the sports information business for more than 12 years. He is a former
Stardust College Basketball champion, claiming the 1996 title. Daraban bested a field of 10 entrants
that season, edging out Benjamin Lee Eckstein in the finals. The field also included Andy Iskoe, Ken
White, Dave Cokin, Russ Culver, Marc Lawrence and Mike Lee. After compiling the event’s top
record (33-22), Daraban was awarded a $10,000.00 winner’s check.
Daraban also served as co-host of the Stardust Line for seven years, beginning in 1992. In that
role, Daraban went on-air with some of the sports gaming industry’s more prominent figures.
For two years, he appeared as a featured handicapper on Sports Desk, which aired nationally
on the USA television network.
In 1998, Daraban earned a berth in the finals of the prestigious Sunset Station (Henderson, Nev.)
football handicapping challenge. He also advanced to the quarterfinal round of the 1999 Stardust
Invitational football contest.
Daraban is a native of Redondo Beach, Calif., and was graduated from Long Beach State in 1987
with a B.A. in communications. |
